Pick a crisis type, get a response checklist. The supply-chain section ties to Chapter 26's famine planning (Yusuf, AS).
Supply Chain Crisis
What to do when materials or supply stops or is delayed.
- Work out how many days of stock you have right now
- List backup suppliers and start reaching out today
- Tell customers ahead of time, avoid surprising them
- If you must raise prices temporarily, explain why transparently, don't exploit the moment
- Build reliance on more than one supplier for the long term
Competitor Crisis
What to do when a new or aggressive competitor enters your market.
- Understand clearly what they're actually doing differently, don't panic
- Re-identify where your real strength lies
- Compete on value, not a price war
- Strengthen relationships with your existing customers
- Focus on your own work, without wishing harm on them
Cashflow Crisis
What to do when cash on hand runs tight.
- Project cash flow for the next 30, 60, and 90 days
- Identify and cut unnecessary spending now
- Prioritize collecting outstanding payments
- Look for qard hasan or a partnership instead of an emergency interest loan
- Negotiate honestly with suppliers on payment timing
Reputation Crisis
What to do when public criticism or complaints hit.
- Listen to the complaint carefully first, don't get defensive
- If you were wrong, admit it publicly and clearly
- Share a specific plan to fix it, an apology alone isn't enough
- Follow through on what you promised, not just in words
- Put a process in place so the same mistake doesn't happen again
This is a general framework, it may not be complete for your specific situation.
